Christina Conlin Takes on Multiple Leadership Roles

Union Pacific Appoints Christina Conlin Senior VP, CLO & Corporate Secretary

Union Pacific, one of America’s oldest freight-hauling railroad companies, has announced that they have appointed Christina Conlin as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, succeeding Craig Richardson, who is all set to retire from the company at the end of March. Colin will oversee all aspects of the company’s legal affairs. As per her new role, she will oversee things like commercial transactions and litigation, including labour employment and regulatory matters. 

The Chief Executive Officer of Union Pacific, Jim Vena, shared his thoughts and said, “Christina is a wonderful addition to the Union Pacific team. She brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record of leadership that will enhance operational efficiency and drive long-term value.” He further added, “Over the past decade, Craig has led Union Pacific through a dynamic legal and regulatory landscape. I am grateful for his contributions and look forward to seeing Christina continue to help us navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead as we deliver safe and reliable service for our customers.

Colin has been in the company for the last 4 months, from Dec 2024, as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. In this capacity, she played a key role in overseeing legal affairs, safeguarding the railroad’s reputation, managing risks, and offering strategic guidance to senior leadership. Prior to joining Union Pacific, she headed Goodyear’s Legal Enterprise Risk group, where she was responsible for legal oversight in areas such as labour and employment, regulatory compliance, environmental health and safety, ethics, and sustainability reporting. Her experience also includes serving as a partner in Baker McKenzie’s International Commercial group and holding various leadership positions at McDonald’s Corporation.
