McLaren will welcome ex-Nissan VP Design, America, David Woodhouse, to take up the position of Chief Creative Officer. David’s appointment to McLaren comes after he worked with another McLaren team member, Kemal Curić, who previously worked at Lincoln. In his new position at McLaren, David will be responsible for product and vehicle design, branding and communication, and retail design and licensing.
Prior to Nissan Motor Corporation, David rejoined Ford Motor Company in 2017 as Design Director, Global Strategic Design, where he guided a team of designers and led the brand into a new era of luxury automotive design. He also worked at Ford for almost a decade, from 2004 to 2013, in positions including Chief Designer, Strategic Concepts Group, and Chief Designer, California Advanced Product Creation.

Earlier in his career, David worked with The Lincoln Motor Company, Premier Automobile Group, Cadillac Europe, Jaguar Land Rover, and BMW Group, showing his expertise in design and leadership. David holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Product Design from Coventry University and an MDesRCA in Vehicle Design from the Royal College of Art.
