Lululemon Athletica, a Canadian sports and athletic apparel brand known for the invention of the ‘Yoga Pants’ has decided to partner with Tata Cliq to open its first-ever retail store in India. Moreover, the company will also provide e-commerce services on its luxury and fashion platform in the latter half of 2026.
Andre Maestrini, the Executive Vice President International at Lululemon, expressed the company’s excitement about bringing its brand to India. He said, “Bringing lululemon to India has been a part of our market expansion roadmap for several years and represents an exciting milestone in our international growth journey. As a brand deeply committed to promoting wellbeing, we are eager to connect with India’s guests and communities, and to support their active lifestyles through our exceptional products and experiences.”
Lululemon, the Canadian activewear giant, has established its presence in over 30 global markets, including North America, EMEA, Asia Pacific, and Mainland China. In May last year, The Economic Times reported that Lululemon’s global team had visited India to explore potential store locations, signaling serious interest in entering the market.

Four years ago, Lululemon established a tech hub in Bengaluru, its first outside North America. This center plays a crucial role in the company’s global expansion strategy, leveraging advanced data science, machine learning, and cloud engineering to enhance product planning and location strategies.
