Maruti Suzuki is preparing to introduce its eagerly awaited electric SUV, the e-Vitara, in India after its showcase at Bharat Mobility Global 2025. The company plans to manufacture it domestically for global exports, with a new electric vehicle manufacturing unit and Lithium-Ion battery plant inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The e-Vitara will be exported to 100 countries, with batteries and hybrid components manufactured in Gujarat. The SUV offers two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The 49 kWh battery provides a WLTP range of 346 km, while the 61 kWh offers 428 km in single-motor configurations. The dual-motor version with the 61 kWh battery delivers a range of 412 km.

Inside, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara features a dual-tone brown and black interior, a two-spoke steering wheel, and technology amenities including a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster. It also boasts leatherette seats, a fixed glass roof, ventilated front seats, a 10-way adjustable driver’s seat, sliding and reclinable rear seats, seven airbags, Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, keyless entry, a ride-by-wire system, and ambient lighting.
Expected to start at around Rs 20 lakh ex-showroom, the SUV will compete with models like Mahindra BE6, Hyundai Creta Electric, and MG ZS EV. Design-wise, it features a front fascia with three-point matrix LED daytime running lights integrated into headlights, black accents at the center of the headlights, Nexa branding on the rear windshield, 18-inch alloy wheels, and revamped LED taillights.
