Rakesh Thakur has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer at Campus Activewear Ltd. In his new role, he’ll lead finance to build a best-in-class finance function, enable business partnering, and accelerate profitable, sustainable growth while creating long-term value for shareholders.
Before his appointment at Campus Activewear Ltd, Rakesh served as Group CFO at boAt Lifestyle for 3 years, where he led finance, creating a legacy and building capabilities through Talent and Technology. He has also worked with Unilever. Rakesh came on board as CFO, Nutrition Business (formerly GSK CH Ltd) in April 2020. His mandate was to grow both brand and people while ensuring profits and cash flow in the business. He was then promoted to Head: Supply Chain Finance (HUL and South Asia) in June 2021 and stayed with the company until August 2023.
He is also formerly associated with GSK Consumer Healthcare India as CFO & Executive Director – GSK Bangladesh Ltd. from 2016-2019, then was promoted to Director – Commercial Finance: GSK CH India Ltd and served from 2019-2020. Rakesh’s career also took a turn when he joined Samsung Electronics as Commercial Controller – E Com/Organised Trade responsible for end to end commercial finance operations of $800MM organised and e-commerce business which included building commercial relationship with Organised retailers like Croma, Flipkart, Reliance Digital etc, claims management & developed new process controls, driving profitability thru focus on ROI on spends, cost control analysis & MIS, debtors and collection management.
Rakesh started his career with PepsiCo in 2004 as Executive/Astt Manager – Sales Finance BU and worked in many positions with dedication, such as Modern Trade Commercial Manager, Business Planner: S&D (PepsiCo Foods), and Corporate Controller (PepsiCo Bev). Rakesh holds a C.A. degree in Finance from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
