Rajat Verma, a banking industry veteran with more than 28 years of experience in banking and finance, has been appointed as the chief executive officer of DBS Bank India, one of Asia’s biggest financial institutions. Verma has been at DBS Bank for the past two years, and the decision to make him the CEO of the bank comes after his successful tenure as the Managing Director and Country Head of Institutional Banking at DBS, where he played a significant role in driving growth and deepening Institutional relationships.
Before joining the DBS Bank in 2023, Rajat had a 26-year-long career at HBS Bank, where he held several key positions across commercial and corporate banking. In HBS, he held the position of Country Head of commercial banking in India, where he played a crucial role in expanding the business to mid and large-market corporates, and Asia Pacific Lead for Sustainable Finance, where he pioneered ESG-focused strategies and finance across the region.

Rajat, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, is expected to reinforce DBS Bank India’s focus on a more customer-centric, innovative, and sustainable approach. Under his leadership, the bank aims to become a household name and scale to new heights in one of the world’s most dynamic financial landscapes.
