Hindustan Unilever (HUL), a subsidiary of the Anglo-Dutch Unilever, has announced the appointment of Priya Nair as its first-ever woman CEO and MD, effective August 1, 2025. This marks a historic chapter in the company’s 92-year journey of glory. Priya will be taking the mantle from Rohit Jawa, who will step down from his CEO role on July 31, 2025. She will also join the board of HUL, for the necessary approvals of the board, and will continue her role as the CEO of the company. Priya currently serves as the President, Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever, one of the company’s fastest-growing global businesses.
She began her career as Consumer Insights Manager and Brand Manager for iconic brands like Dove and Rin, later spearheading marketing for laundry, oral care, and deodorants. Nair also served as General Manager for Customer Development in HUL’s western region and as Executive Director for Homecare and Beauty & Personal Care in South Asia. In 2022, she became Unilever’s Global Chief Marketing Officer for Beauty & Wellbeing, rising to President in 2023.

A BCom graduate from Sydenham College and an MBA from Symbiosis, Nair also attended Harvard Business School. Rohit has been CEO and MD of HUL since 2023, and under his leadership, the company has grown in terms of revenue and navigated challenges to crack down new markets.
