Australia-based AI infrastructure company Firmus has signed new agreements with Meta, the parent company of Facebook, to provide GPU computing capacity at the latter’s AI facilities in Southeast Asia. The deal will give Meta access to contracted computing capacity, along with options to expand it in the future. The infrastructure will use NVIDIA’s full-stack DSX platform and will support Meta’s AI research, model development, and training. They have not shared how much money is involved in the deal.
The partnership builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. Meta is already using NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems at Firmus’ AI facility in Melbourne, Australia. Firmus says this is the largest deployment of NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra systems in the Southern Hemisphere. Firmus designs, builds, and operates AI factories for large-scale computing needs. Its infrastructure combines computing, networking, cooling, and power systems to deliver more computing performance while using energy efficiently.
The company is also expanding its operations across the Asia-Pacific region. Firmus is preparing for a potential $5 billion IPO to help fund its growing AI infrastructure projects. If completed, the IPO could become one of Australia’s largest. The latest agreement shows how demand for powerful AI infrastructure is growing as companies such as Meta continue to develop and train increasingly advanced AI models.
