Microsoft is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and on this occasion, the company has announced appointments in India and South Asia, ensuring a strong foothold in the region, which is the world’s fastest-growing economic region. A key aspect of the announcement was the appointment of Himani Agarwal as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Microsoft in the Indian and South Asian region.
Himani Agrawal, formerly Microsoft’s Chief Partner Officer, played a key role in expanding the company’s vast partner network, which spans over 20,000 partners in 850 cities, to boost cloud and AI adoption. In her new position, she’ll focus on unifying business objectives, enhancing revenue, and streamlining operations through innovation. Her experience also includes leading Azure and Business Applications as Chief of Staff and Country Head, driving significant business growth with high-performing teams.
The next one is Nitin Mittal, who has been appointed as the Industry leader for Digital Natives in India and South Asia. Mittal has extensive experience, having worked in numerous companies throughout his career and founded a B2B enterprise called SOLV. His expertise in building digital platforms across various platforms is of utmost importance to Microsoft.
Next up is the new HR Head for South Asia and India. For this role, Microsoft has selected Aparna Kondaboina. She will be heading the recruitment process for Microsoft Customer and Partners Solutions (MCAPS) in India and South Asia. She has been a long-time employee of Microsoft, with over 20 years of experience at the company.

All of these appointments are poised to make Microsoft a much more efficient company that will lead the digital transformation in Asia and the Indian subcontinent. The President of Microsoft India and South Asia, Mr Puneet Chandok, shared his views on the appointment and said, “Each of these leaders will strengthen our leadership bench with their deep functional depth and business acumen. I am particularly proud of our seasoned women leaders taking up strategic roles to deliver exceptional value to our customers and partners.”
