Quorum Cyber has agreed to acquire Ontinue, bringing two Microsoft-focused cybersecurity companies together. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed yet. Both companies will continue to work separately until the deal is completed and gets the required approvals.
This acquisition will bring together Quorum Cyber’s managed security and threat intelligence services with Ontinue’s managed extended detection and response (MXDR) business. Ontinue uses AI agents to help security teams find, investigate and respond to cyber threats, while human experts remain responsible for key decisions.
The combined company plans to serve customers across North America, the UK and the DACH region. Its services will cover Microsoft security products including Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Security Copilot and Project Perception. AI will be a major focus of the combined business. They also believe AI can help security teams respond faster to threats and manage the growing number of security tasks. Ontinue’s technology allows AI agents to investigate threats and take action within rules set by customers, while people continue to oversee the process.
They also said cybersecurity deal activity is growing. Industry data cited in the announcement showed that the value of cybersecurity mergers and acquisitions increased 270% to $96 billion in 2025. Quorum Cyber expects the deal to strengthen its AI and managed security capabilities, while Ontinue will gain greater scale, threat intelligence and international reach.
