Wipro Limited has announced its plan to acquire the Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) division of HARMAN, a Samsung company. The deal is valued at $375 million in cash, according to a statement released to the stock market on Thursday.
In accordance with the agreement, over 5,600 DTS employees, including key leadership figures from the Americas, Europe, and Asia, are scheduled to transfer to Wipro upon the closing of the deal, which is expected by December 31, 2025. Subsequently, DTS will be integrated into Wipro’s Engineering Global Business Line.
The acquisition is strategic because DTS has a strong presence in high-growth sectors and key markets, which complements Wipro’s growing global footprint. This move aims to boost digital innovation, accelerate time-to-market, and enhance competitive positioning, according to Wipro CEO and Managing Director Srini Pallia. He stated that integrating DTS’s engineering expertise with Wipro’s consulting and AI capabilities will significantly increase the value delivered to clients.
Christian Sobottka, CEO of HARMAN, highlighted that the deal opens new opportunities for DTS, enabling faster scaling, broader client reach, and the realisation of its growth potential. Wipro emphasised that DTS’s strengths in digital engineering, including domain-led design, connected products, and software platforms, will bolster Wipro’s service offerings.
Srikumar Rao, Wipro’s Managing Partner and Global Head of Engineering, observed that these combined efforts will enable smooth integration of virtual and physical environments, incorporate AI into engineering workflows, and promote scalable innovation. Rao mentioned that this move aligns with Wipro’s platform-centric approach, allowing it to undertake larger, more complex transformation projects across several high-growth sectors such as Hi-Tech, Consumer, Industrial, Healthcare, and Aerospace.

The $375 million transaction, including earn-outs, aims to boost Wipro’s ER&D services. About 5,600 DTS employees from India, the U.S., South Korea, U.K., Poland, and Germany will join Wipro, enhancing its regional presence. This acquisition underscores Wipro’s focus on innovation and expanding its digital transformation and engineering services.
