BRICS Business Leaders Boost Investments and Technology Ties With India

Business leaders from Egypt, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Russia, and South Africa have called for stronger economic cooperation with India at the BRICS Business Forum in New Delhi. India is becoming an increasingly important investment destination for businesses from BRICS countries, thanks to its fast-growing economy, strong manufacturing sector, engineering expertise, and opportunities in technology.

Egyptian Smart Meter Company Iskraemeco Eyes Entry Into Indian Market Through Factory Set-up. The company’s Chairman and CEO, Mohamed Elsayed, said the factories will serve customers in India and other Asian markets. He also said Indian and Egyptian companies can work together by sharing skilled workers and talent. Co-chairperson of the BRICS Business Council’s Ethiopian Dereje Walelign Mera said BRICS countries need to make business easier by bringing their policies, certifications and rules closer together. He also said companies can trade and invest more easily and stressed that BRICS plans should lead to real action, not just discussions.

Meanwhile, Evgeniy Zakharov, Managing Director of Eurasia Special Machines, highlighted the opportunities to work with India in areas such as medicines, tourism, artificial intelligence and engineering. He also said that the Indian companies could work with Kazakhstan on technology and engineering projects, even remotely.

Founder, Managing Director and CEO of NTGR Engineering Abednico Mkhari from South Africa said his country’s companies are interested in partnerships with Indian engineering and technology firms. He said India and South Africa should work together and share technology instead of competing. Moreover, the Founder and CEO of GSBI Ltd, Alexandr Kokov, from Russia, described India as a major economy with many investment opportunities. He mentioned in his statement that India could become one of the main drivers of future BRICS and global economic growth.

Overall, business leaders from all across the world believe that BRICS can create more jobs, investment and trade by improving cooperation, sharing technology and making cross-border business easier.
