After months of working with the genius billionaire Elon Musk, Nikita Bier has decided to join X full-time as its new product head. Nikita co-founded social networking apps like tbh and Gas and has used his expertise to help integrate xAI’s Grok onto X, formerly Twitter. This comes at a time when Elon Musk is looking to revolutionise the platform with real-time fact-checking and other features, which will ensure free and accurate speech on the platform.
Nikita shared his thoughts on his appointment and notified the people through an X post saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve officially posted my way to the top: I’m joining X as Head of Product. X is the most important social network in the world. It’s where internet culture originates and where the world’s most influential people convene. While I already spend every waking hour on this app, I’ll now be spending that time helping others unlock that same value. And we’ll certainly be leveraging the power of Grok to create hyper-relevant timelines and help people understand everything that’s happening.”
Both of Bier’s previous inventions, tbh and Gas, were bought out by big tech companies like Meta and Discord. Tbh was sold to Meta in 2017, while Gas was sold to Discord in 2023. Since then, Bier has been known in the tech landscape as someone with a knack for creating consumer apps that quickly gain popularity.

Another reason for making this strategic move is to push user engagement further, as it faces stagnant user growth and revenue generation. Bier will help X do it. Bier is also a part of Lightspeed Ventures, where he joined as product growth manager, and he also serves as an advisor for Solana Labs.
